Capetown and it's vicinity

The first few pictures are of the Capetown two bridges we had to come through to get to our berth. Then a few of the V & A Waterfront  Marina.  After Christmas our friends Tom & Susi took us on a day trip around  the peninsula . So this is part of the day.
This is it he first  bridge that had to be opened to get through. It's  a swing bridge.

The second  is called the bascule  bridge. Once through you are in the marina heading for your berth.
These are all part of the Waterfront . The one ahead is the the food market.
The Alfred Mall with the big ferries wheel  in the back ground.
The fishing fleet.
Restaurants along the outside of the Alfred Mall.

Looking out at Table Mountain from our boat.

Cloud moving over the mountain is called the table cloth.
Tom and Susi.
We came around the Cape of Good Hope  to get to Capetown.  Once we rounded the Cape we knew we had made it.
Monkeys encountered during our drive.
The male decided  to take a nap in the middle of the road. No worries. And no moving.
Waves breaking on the rocks.  It was very windy  that day .
Showing the large kelp that is every where along the shore line.
This is looking up at the lighthouse. We took the rail car up and then walked down.

Capetown

Don and I are trying to do some sightseeing so one day we took a bus up to the famous Table Mountain. It was beautifu clear day. When we got to the base there was a two hour  cue to get on the cable car to the top of the mountain. But a worth while wait. The view was spectacular,  all the different flowers, bushes, birds and animals. It was amazing.

Thread-leaved Klass low bush.
That was the line for getting on the cable car plus a view of Capetown.
She's probably  saying "beautiful Capetown ".

Lots of different kinds of floral and shrubs. This is called Safari Sunset.
Confetti bush while flowers.

Red Heath.

That building on the very top is were the cable cars stop.

This animal is the table mountain Dassie, also called the Rock Hyrax or Rock Badger.
Red winged starling.

East London to Capetown.

Anchored in the Buffalo river in East London.

Looking over at the unopened yacht club.

Looking out at the place where we were welcomed to go have meals and drinks since the yacht club  was no longer open.
This car carrier came in as we were all ready to leave for Capetown so we had to wait till it was secured before we could leave. East London has a big Mercedes factory so these car carrier come every other day to haul the cars away.
On our way to Capetown. We had a beautiful moon.
One of the  more beautiful sunrises I have captured.
Same one just a few minutes after the first one.
Mornings before the sun comes up.

We had a full moon when we arrived in Capetown.

As it got lighter we could see table mountain approaching Capetown.
We are now at a berth at the V & A marina. The cloud coming over the table mountain is called the tablecloth.
And here is our Solstice.
This is one  of very many neighbors. Once they are on your pontoon it's very hard to get them off cause they don't want to leave. They will just hiss at you. So we have to be very careful.
More messy neighbors.
We were taken to a winery for a wine tasting. What a beautiful scenery.  Quite a few vineyard in south African and they have very good wines.

Here we all are having the wine tasting.
This is a swing bridge that you have to call and get open to come to the harbor of the V & A Waterfront  Marina where we have a berth.
Here's  a yacht waiting to  go through another bridge to get to the marina.
